The short version

Shorts vs Pants uses location or a place you search for to request weather and generate clothing recommendations. The app does not currently require an account. We do not sell personal information.

Location and place searches

If you allow current-location access, your device coordinates are used to retrieve local weather and label your location. You can decline and search for a place manually.

Place search is supported by Google Maps Platform. Google may process search text, approximate location and technical request information under its own terms and privacy policy.

Weather and recommendations

Coordinates and forecast settings are sent to our protected service so it can request Apple Weather data. Your activity and comfort preferences are used to calculate recommendations. Preferences may be stored on your device.

Analytics and diagnostics

The app uses PostHog to understand performance and feature use. These events should not include precise location, full place-search text or outfit feedback.

The website does not currently run analytics. If website analytics are enabled later, this policy will be updated before collection begins.

Feedback and support

If you send feedback or contact support, we receive the information you choose to provide and technical context needed to respond. Please do not include sensitive personal information.

Retention, security and your choices

Information is kept only for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose it was collected, subject to service-provider settings and legal obligations. We use safeguards designed to protect information, but no service can guarantee absolute security.

You can revoke location access in device settings, use manual place search, clear local app data or contact us about a privacy request.
